Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway has made a major announcement off the field—pledging his entire $20 million signing bonus and sponsorship earnings to support nationwide efforts fighting homelessness.
“Every night, people are struggling for shelter or a warm meal,” Lagway said in an emotional press conference at Gainesville. “Football has given me a platform and blessings—I’m determined to pay it forward.”
He’s directing the funds toward:
- Emergency shelters and rapid housing initiatives
- Meal distribution networks and food banks
- Mental health services and counseling
- Youth outreach and veteran housing programs
Lagway has also promised ongoing commitment—volunteering, public advocacy, and partnering with nonprofits to ensure long-term community impact.
