Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago – Connor Bedard Statue to Be Unveiled at Blackhawks Stadium

A legendary figure in Chicago Blackhawks history will be forever immortalized, as a statue honoring the iconic forward Connor Bedard is set to be unveiled at Blackhawks Stadium on the 3rd of June.

At just 19 years old, Bedard has already become a household name in the world of hockey. His meteoric rise to stardom began when he was selected first overall by the Blackhawks in the 2023 NHL Draft. Since then, he has continued to captivate fans with his extraordinary skill, poise, and leadership on the ice. Despite his youth, Bedard has played with the maturity and vision of a seasoned veteran, quickly establishing himself as the cornerstone of the franchise’s rebuild and future.

The decision to honor Bedard with a statue at such an early stage in his career is a testament to the impact he has had not only on the team but also on the city of Chicago. His debut season was one for the history books, filled with highlight-reel goals, record-breaking performances, and a level of excitement that had the city buzzing each night he took the ice. For fans, Bedard represents hope, passion, and the beginning of a new golden era for the Blackhawks.

The bronze statue, which will be installed outside the main entrance of Blackhawks Stadium, captures Bedard in a dynamic skating pose—stick in hand, eyes focused, as if charging toward the goal. Designed by renowned sculptor Michael Costello, the monument aims to reflect both Bedard’s intensity and his graceful style of play. The base of the statue will feature his name, number 98, and a quote from Bedard himself: “Play every game like it’s your last.”

The unveiling ceremony will be open to the public, with appearances from Blackhawks legends, current teammates, and members of the Bedard family. Fans are expected to gather in large numbers to witness this historic moment, marking the first time a player has been honored with a statue so early in their career.

As the Blackhawks continue to build toward a bright future, Connor Bedard stands at the heart of it all. The statue will not only celebrate what he has already achieved but also serve as an enduring symbol of what’s still to come.
