NBA insider Bill Simmons has stirred up major buzz by suggesting that a blockbuster deal sending Kevin Durant to the San Antonio Spurs may already be finalized — just not yet announced.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if KD to the Spurs is done already and they just haven’t announced it,” Simmons said on his podcast. “Basically, they’ve agreed on specifics — just waiting to drop it during draft week.”
According to Simmons, San Antonio could be leaning toward Durant over other stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo because the deal “costs less” and still keeps the team competitive — while allowing them to retain the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
If true, the move could dramatically shift the balance of power in the West and give Victor Wembanyama the elite veteran teammate many fans have been hoping for.
