Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu isn’t mincing words when it comes to rookie Matas Buzelis. In a league constantly chasing the next superstar, Ayo believes Chicago might already have theirs. “He loves the work,” Dosunmu said. “A tremendous worker.” But this wasn’t your average rookie praise—Ayo took it further, comparing Buzelis’ potential to none other than Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“I know Giannis is a Hall of Famer, top 20, top 30 all time,” Dosunmu said. “But Matas has a chance to really dominate the game like that.” At 6-foot-10 (and still growing), Buzelis brings a rare blend of size, fluidity, and hunger. Ayo emphasized that as the young forward continues to fill out his frame and sharpen his skills, his ceiling will only rise.

If Buzelis delivers on even part of that potential, the Bulls’ trajectory could shift dramatically. After years of instability and star-hunting, Chicago may have quietly landed their franchise cornerstone. Dosunmu sees the signs already—work ethic, focus, and that elusive “it” factor.

The league might not be watching yet. But if Ayo’s right, it won’t be long before Matas Buzelis forces everyone to take notice.
