Danny Rohl has overseen a hectic winter transfer window, with Rangers already completing three deals to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the Scottish Premiership season.
Andreas Skov Olsen has been the most recent addition, arriving after Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens were brought in to add depth and quality.
Another potential signing, Ryan Naderi of Hansa Rostock, remains on the club’s radar ahead of Monday’s deadline, although outgoing moves currently appear closer to being finalised than further arrivals.
One departure, in particular, looks imminent, with Clinton Nsiala expected to be the first player to leave Ibrox on a busy deadline day.
The defender is on the verge of joining Belgian side KVC Westerlo. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Rangers have agreed to a loan deal that includes a non-compulsory option to buy at the end of the campaign.
Nsiala is due to fly to Belgium on Sunday evening, with his medical scheduled for deadline day on 2 February.
Should the move be made permanent, the player is understood to have been offered a contract running until 2029.
Nsiala may not be the only exit before the window shuts. Rangers are still dealing with the fallout from a disastrous summer recruitment drive that left the club bloated with underperforming players.
Kevin Thelwell’s signings failed to deliver, contributing to Russell Martin’s early dismissal at Ibrox.
Thelwell also departed soon after, though the squad he assembled largely remained intact.
To his credit, Rohl has managed to get improved performances out of several players, but further changes still look likely.
Danilo is widely expected to depart before the deadline, having already been spotted back in the Netherlands.
Joe Rothwell could also be moved on, with the midfielder struggling to make an impact and a return to the Championship appearing the most probable outcome.
Despite plenty of activity already, Rangers’ business may yet run until the final moments of the window, which closes at 7:00 pm on Monday.
