Matvei Michkov Sends a Message About Ivan Demidov
Michkov is clear: Kent Hughes acquired an incredible player when he got Demidov, and he won’t regret it.
Michkov also wanted to reassure the Canadiens and mentioned that he’ll continue to support Demidov all the way through to help ease his transition to North America.
Clearly, the two have a great relationship, and they’re lucky to have each other.
“You and Ivan Demidov talk a lot.
Have you discussed your first impressions of the NHL?” – Journalist
“Yes, we talked about it. Vanya had an excellent first game. I congratulated him right after.
Then he got into the playoffs, and that experience will be very helpful going forward.” – Matvei Michkov
“Would you agree that he has a big future in the NHL?” – Journalist
“Absolutely. He has tremendous potential. If he keeps working in the right direction, everything will go well. The most important thing is to stay healthy. We’ll support him all the way.
He’s a talented, fast, and skilled player. He can make plays and score goals. He has everything to become a superstar in this league.” – Matvei Michkov
We love it!
It’s really great and reassuring to see Matvei Michkov speak like this, and it’s clear he’ll be a huge ally for Ivan Demidov.
In this interview, Matvei Michkov also had kind words for young Lane Hutson, also with the Montreal Canadiens, and admitted he’s grown a lot himself as a player.
Michkov is aware he needs to play better, and he’s fully conscious that he still has to keep learning how to better control his emotions, even if he’s already made great progress in that regard.
