The Knicks have interviewed Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins, both fired by the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies respectively.
Rumors persist regarding their admiration for Jason Kidd, although the Dallas Mavericks have not given the Knicks permission to speak to him regarding the vacancy.
Another contender has emerged for the vacancy as the Knicks attempt to find Thibodeau’s successor.
Knicks interested in James Borrego
The latest name on the New York Knicks list of candidates has now emerged. According to The Athletic, senior Knicks figures are considering an approach for James Borrego.
Borrego made his name in NBA coaching circles on Gregg Popovich’s staff with the San Antonio Spurs as an assistant.
He was on the staff when the Spurs won titles in 2005 and 2007, and later worked as an assistant in New Orleans, and then with the Orlando Magic.
