Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff will be making his Netflix debut in two different ways in 2025. He’ll play his first Netflix game in December on Christmas Day, and he’ll be a part of season 2 of the Quarterback docuseries on July 8th.

On Monday, Netflix dropped the first trailer for the series, and there were some big takeaways in there. Here’s what we noticed:

“Too bad Tom”

I can’t wait to see some more of this one right here. If you go back to the 2024 season, NFL Hall of Famer Tom Brady, who is now on Fox, was talking about how he would love to be the quarterback of the Lions’ offense. In the trailer, Goff says, “Too bad, Tom,  you’re retired.” It’s funny to see, and you have to wonder how much more we’ll see on that in the show.

Meet Christen

You’re not just getting a peek behind the curtain of Goff being the Lions quarterback. You’re also going to get a peek behind the curtain of his everyday life off the field, and with that, you’re going to get to know his wife, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Christen Goff a little more too. Judging by the trailer, there looks like there could be some funny moments with these two.

The playoff win against the Rams

Looks like when Netflix was in the building filming Receiver with Amon-Ra St. Brown, they may have gotten some stuff on Jared Goff after the win over the Rams in the Wild Card round of the 2023 playoffs. That was a big one for obvious reasons.

Goff was super quiet during that game, but we might get to see some insight into how he was really feeling about playing his old team in such a big game
